It all started in 2017, with three mates* working in business development in Melbourne having exuberant amounts of the finest Australian Pinot Noir and whining about their marketing team not having enough budget to do more than generating poor leads with the company’s website, about themselves spending way too much time hard selling mildly interested prospects because they were the only ones available in the pipeline and also, of course, about the only strategy they were instructed which mainly consisted in increasing the marketing budget governance and setting higher sales targets on the forecast spreadsheet year on year.
